No corn for a couple days, but we have melons and tomatoes!

We had a great day Saturday selling sweet corn and other veggies.  We sold over 100 dozen ears of sweet corn.  It will probably be at least Thursday until we pick more corn.  It has been a tough start to the sweet corn season.  We had 2 early patches of sweet corn planted on plastic that we have picked.  The next patch is planted directly into the soil, but we had to skip almost a week back in the Spring because of the cold, wet weather.  Hard to think about that now with no rain and temps in the upper 90’s.  We had lots of cold rainy weather back in May and it has set all of our crops back.  Once this next patch gets ready, we’ll be able to roll the rest of the season with corn.  We are picking plenty of MELONS!  RED WATERMELONS, YELLOW WATERMELONS, ORANGE WATERMELONS, CANTALOUPES, CANARY MELONS, SPANISH MELONS, and HONEY DEW MELONS!  Also ready today:  Red potatoes, Blue Potatoes, Squash, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Herbs, Tomatoes, Sweet Italian Peppers, Eggplant and more!  See you at the FARM!IMG_20160716_072411
