Long before strawberry season begins, our plants are carefully prepared to rest through the winter months. As temperatures drop, we protect the strawberry beds with row cover and mulch to shield the plants from harsh winds and freezing conditions. This insulation allows the plants to go dormant while keeping their crowns healthy and strong, setting the foundation for a productive spring harvest.
Throughout the winter, our strawberries may be sleeping—but they’re far from forgotten. We regularly monitor weather conditions and adjust coverings as needed to protect against extreme cold while still allowing airflow. This careful balance helps prevent damage and disease, ensuring that when warmer days arrive, our plants wake up ready to grow and produce sweet, flavorful berries.
As spring sunshine returns, our strawberry plants begin to bloom, and fruit quickly follows. Strawberry season typically begins in late spring to early summer, depending on weather conditions. We encourage you to mark your calendars for strawberry season and keep an eye on our updates for exact opening dates. We’ll be offering pick-your-own strawberries, pre-picked berries, and special seasonal events—so whether you want the full farm experience or just a fresh basket of berries, we’ve got you covered.
