The Norway Spruce is a classic Christmas favorite known for its short needles and strong, sturdy branches that can easily hold heavy ornaments. Its wide spacing between branches allows lights and decorations to be placed deep into the foliage, creating a full and festive look.
This tree is only available as a Choose and Cut option and should be placed in water as soon as possible after cutting. With regular watering and care, it can last around five weeks before showing any significant needle drop. However, when the needles do fall, they tend to drop all at once rather than gradually. To help it last, we recommend keeping it away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Despite being the only tree that occasionally receives complaints about needle drop, it remains a timeless and beautiful choice for those who love a traditional Christmas look.
The Colorado Blue Spruce is a stunning tree with dense, short needles and a color that ranges from deep green to silvery blue. Early in the winter, its tone leans more green, while in spring it glows with that striking silver-blue hue. Because of its slow growth, these trees are usually smaller and highly sought after — we only have a handful available this season.
This variety is known for its very stiff branches, making it an excellent choice for heavy ornaments. The needles, though a bit prickly, give the tree a classic look and a pleasant texture. With proper watering and care, the Colorado Blue Spruce can stay fresh for up to six weeks. We’re steadily expanding our supply, but it takes seven to ten years for these trees to reach the perfect height, so they truly are something special to find.
We currently don’t have any White Pines available, but more are growing and are expected to be ready starting in 2030. The White Pine is known for its soft, flexible needles in beautiful shades of bluish-green. This variety has excellent needle retention but isn’t suited for heavy ornaments.
Its gentle color and soft texture make it a lovely choice for those who prefer a delicate, elegant tree. The White Pine also has very little aroma, which can be a plus for anyone sensitive to strong scents. Though it takes six to eight years to grow a tree to full size, the result is a graceful, timeless addition to any holiday celebration.
The Canaan Fir, pronounced “Ka-naan,” is a wonderful choice that shares many traits with the popular Fraser Fir, including its lush look and excellent needle retention. Originally from the Canaan Valley in West Virginia, it grows beautifully in our region, even where Fraser Firs will not.
This tree features strong branches that hold ornaments well and a deep green color that brings warmth to any holiday home. With the right care and regular watering, the Canaan Fir will stay fresh and fragrant throughout the Christmas season. Its full shape and soft needles make it a favorite among families looking for that perfect, picture-worthy tree.
