We’ve had a rainy week out here at the farm, but the weather for tomorrow October 1 is looking promising! We have picked all week in these 300 gallon water troughs that our cows drink out of. These Rubbermaid tubs hold up better under the rain than our cardboard bins. We have plenty of pumpkins picked and in the greenhouse and in the barns behind the Market. Wear old shoes, as the patch is a little muddy and the grounds around the market are just a little muddy as well. We are still sampling and having our Taste of the Market this Saturday October 1. We will be sampling Trickling Springs Milk, Roseda Beef, Papa Weaver’s Pork, and many other items. We will be dipping Ice Cream from Trickling Springs Creamery. PUMPKIN ICE CREAM IS BACK! Free Hayrides to and from the pumpkin patch start at 9:00 and run to 5:00. Free Parking. Free Admission. Free Fresh Air. All you pay for is the pumpkin! Picnic Tables are provided. Pumpkins are $.75/lb or you can fill a wheelbarrow for the $80 wheelbarrow deal. You must be able to move the wheelbarrow without someone holding the pumpkins on the wheelbarrow and they must not fall off on the way to the counter or your vehicle. Interested in Wholesale Pumpkins? Contact Ben 540 850 6729. Still picking watermelons, cantaloupes, Spanish melons, Canary melons, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and more. Plenty of Apples from Saunders Brothers Orchard in Nelson County. Jonagold, Empire, and Honey Crisp. We will pick Sweet Corn for Saturday. We are near the end of Sweet Corn Season. See you at the Farm and in the Pumpkin Patch. The patch is loaded with PUMPKINS! Check out our pre-picked pumpkins in the Greenhouse and the barns behind the Market. Lots of heirlooms to choose from.
