Take time each day to see what the Lord hath made! Fall skies are so beautiful! Looking west across the field where we had the 2016 strawberry patch. 3 weeks ago we planted a cover crop of Radishes, Clover, and Ryegrass. The radishes break up compaction, the clover adds nitrogen, and the ryegrass helps with soil structure. We always try to have something growing in our soil to keep it alive. All of the good bacteria are busy working in the soil, but they have to have something to live on. The cover crops help with that. Cover crops help prevent erosion too! This cover crop is planted everywhere that we had veggies this year. We are now open Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm. Plenty of Apples from Saunders Brothers’ Orchard. Plenty of eggplant and sweet Italian Peppers too from the last harvest of one of our High Tunnels! Lots of winter squash and pumpkins still available. Milk truck arrives Thursday a.m. Remember to order your Turkey for Thanksgiving! See you at the FARM!
