- The option to purchase additional vouchers throughout the 2017 growing season will ONLY be available to our initial Pick-Your-Own CSA participants (those who sign up before the April 1 deadline).
- All vouchers expire December 22, 2017, whether or not the dollar amounts on them have been completely exhausted.
- What is a Pick Your Own CSA? It’s a different twist on CSA’s. This year at Miller Farms we will be offering our customers the opportunity to purchase shares of our homegrown seasonal produce, in advance of the growing season, at a reduced price. If you enjoy picking your own Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, and Blueberries, or choosing your own Pumpkins and cutting your own Christmas Trees, the Pick-Your-Own CSA will allow you to pay an advance dollar amount on those items you plan to pick at our Farm. This advance dollar amount will buy a voucher worth between 10% and 25% MORE than its dollar value.
- How will the Pick-Your-Own CSA work? If you plan to come on out and pick Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries, and Blackberries this spring and summer, or choose your own Pumpkins and cut your own Christmas Trees this fall, you can sign up for our Pick-Your-Own CSA now, obtain your pre-paid voucher in the value of your share, and pick out the above mentioned crops when they are ready, just as you would normally do. Then, when it’s time to check out, you let the cashier know that you have a Pick-Your-Own CSA Voucher before they start ringing up your purchase. You’ll present your Pick-Your-Own CSA voucher and pay for your Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, Pumpkins, or Christmas Trees by using the voucher. The cashier will deduct the total price of your Pick-Your-Own crop from your voucher and record the amount left on the voucher. You will keep your voucher until it is used up. Savings are reflected at the initial time of purchase of the Pick-Your-Own CSA Voucher, NOT at the register.
- For which items would my voucher be redeemable? Vouchers will be redeemable ONLY on the following market items: Pick-Your-Own Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries, Pumpkins, and Choose-And-Cut Christmas Trees. Our Pick-Your-Own CSA excludes any of the above mentioned crops that have already been harvested (meaning we did the picking) or were purchased by Miller Farms Market (meaning we brought it to our market, already harvested, from another local farmer). You must pick-your-own and it must come from our farm for the voucher to be accepted and redeemed.
- A Pick-Your-Own CSA payment is nonrefundable. Miller Farms Market is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unreadable vouchers. Vouchers will not be replaced.
- Canning information: Participants may purchase a Ball Blue Book for canning and preserving for a reduced price of $5.00.
- Bring your voucher: Participants will be responsible for their vouchers. This means it will be your responsibility to remember to bring your voucher when you plan on using it. If you don’t have it with you at the time of purchase, you can’t use it toward your purchase.
- Tell the cashier: Participants will be responsible for making the cashier aware of intent to use a voucher before the cashier begins ringing up the eligible purchase.
- Pick only when patches are open: Participants will be allowed access to pick-your-own patches only when the appropriate patches are open. When Miller Farms Market is closed, the Pick-Your-Own Patches are closed as well. We are always closed on Sundays.
- Email updates: Participants will receive email updates on crop status and picking conditions.
- Weather reminder: Remember, our business is very weather dependent, but we do our best to bring you the finest produce we can grow. After all, your business keeps the Miller Family farming!
