#sweetcornwatch for 2017. That’s right, it’s time to begin the countdown for #sweetcorn for 2017. On Saturday we planted 19,200 NON GMO seeds on plastic. Our strawberry planter pops holes 12 inches apart in a double row. We drop 2 seeds per hole and cover up the seed. In this picture, we are adjusting the planter before we go down the next row. We will get irrigation to the patch today and then pull row covers by the end of the week. The row covers will raise the temperature so the corn germinates and grows faster and it will protect from frost. The 2 week forecast looks good, but we all know that can change. If all goes well, we’ll be picking corn by mid June. We are still accepting CSA signups! You can sign up on our website via paypal or you can stop by the Market on our Farm. By joining our CSA, you are ensuring your weekly supply of produce. JoJo’s recipes are included each week along with the occasional coupon for items in our Market. See you at the Farm! #buyfreshbuylocal
