Sweet Corn news. Some bad, but mostly good. Y’all just have to be patient. We will sell out of SWEET CORN today.

Now for the details. Most of you know that we plant a half acre of Sweet Corn every week so we can pick Fresh Every Day. We made the first planting the last Saturday of March, We made a planting yesterday, and we have one more planting to make next week. The planting next week will take us until mid-October.

So what happened???? This patch that we picked in today was planted on May 12 and the next patch was planted May 19. If you remember back, it hadn’t rained in some time and it was extremely dry. It took 2 weeks for these patches to germinate and begin to grow due to the lack of moisture. The patch we picked in today, only about half of it germinated on schedule and that’s the corn we were able to pick. It was hard to tell how much corn was in the patch until we picked it. The rest of the patch and the next patch will hopefully be ready in about a week.

Thanks for being loyal SWEET CORN customers! And we are disappointed as well, but we are excited that we will have PLENTY OF SWEET CORN in about 1 week. Remember we will post when we pick corn again.
