STRAWBERRY UPDATE for Saturday, May 20th: A Beautiful day to be at the farm! It looks like the rain will hold off until after we close.
It has been a BUSY week of picking STRAWBERRIES here at the Farm. There are still STRAWBERRIES to pick, but there is not the volume that was there earlier in the week. It will take you longer to pick STRAWBERRIES, but the ones that you find will be Sweet and Juicy. Some of the best picking is on the tire rows, (the tires hold down the covers we use for frost protection), and in the weedy spots. Also the far end of the patch, away from the driveway is a good place to pick.
Remember to only pick fully red strawberries. A strawberry will not ripen once it’s been picked. AND if you pick the GREEN BERRIES, that’s the fruit that will be RIPE next week.
Picking will be light and scattered through today (Saturday). PICKING SATURDAY MORNING will be the ticket to the BEST picking. We open at 8am. We will probably get picked out by early afternoon, today (Saturday).
STRAWBERRY season is far from over, it’s just been a busy week of picking and the patch can’t keep up. Lots of BLOOMS and GREEN BERRIES waiting to ripen. THANKS to all who have picked STRAWBERRIES or Purchased Pre-Picked STRAWBERRIES so far this season.
We STILL have some PRE-PICKED STRAWBERRIES for this morning. Not sure how long they will last. When they’re gone, they’re gone.
Remember we are Hand Dipping Ice Cream cones with Homestyle Creamy Ice Cream from South Mountain Creamery. A PERFECT treat for before or after picking Strawberries.

The Strawberry Patch is located across the road from the Market. Just past the big water tanks and Greenhouses. Containers are located in the Red Hut at the Field or at the Market. Check out is at the Market. Pre-Picked Strawberries when available @ $5/pint.

You can come earlier to pick, but you can’t check out until the Market is open.
